Antony Novom

Antony Novom is an intellectual property attorney with experience across patent and trademark prosecution, copyright registration, IP enforcement and dispute resolution, licensing, and brand development and protection. He has practiced at large general-practice firms, IP boutiques, and in-house at biotechnology companies, giving him a broad perspective on the development and management of intellectual property portfolios. Antony works closely with clients to translate complex legal and technical issues into practical business guidance.

With a degree in biochemistry, Antony advises clients on the creation and management of global IP portfolios across a range of technologies, including molecular and cell biology, gene therapy, immunology, diagnostics, drug-delivery systems, chemical engineering, medical and mechanical devices, bioinformatics, biofuels, clean technology, semiconductors, batteries, and consumer electronics. He also has experience with proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including interferences, IPRs, and reexaminations.

Antony has served as an invited guest lecturer at UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management, speaking on workplace ethics and ethical considerations relating to corporate intellectual property. He is also an annual presenter for the “Discover the Law” series sponsored by UC San Diego Student Legal Services.

Outside of his legal practice, Antony serves as a Judge Pro Tem in the Small Claims Division of the San Diego Superior Court. He is also a ninth-degree black belt and Master Instructor with the Schu-Fu International Martial Arts Association.
