Celeste Alvarez, PhD​

Celeste is an AmLaw 100–trained Patent Agent whose practice focuses on life sciences patent prosecution. She works closely with inventors and legal teams to secure robust, strategically aligned patent protection for biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovations across the patent lifecycle. 

Celeste’s work includes drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications, developing amendment strategy, and supporting long-term portfolio growth.

Celeste has played a pivotal role in patent prosecution for clients ranging from early-stage startups to commercial-stage biopharma companies developing complex biologic therapeutics, including CAR-T, regulatory T-cell, and NK-cell compositions. Her experience spans the full life cycle of cell-based biologics, from early platform technologies to late-stage manufacturing innovations. 

Celeste also coordinates with foreign counsel to maintain strategic alignment across multi-jurisdiction portfolios and manages sequence listing preparation entirely in-house to ensure confidentiality and data integrity throughout drafting and filing.

Celeste holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and brings deep technical literacy across biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and chemical formulations, with early training rooted in molecular biology. Prior to entering patent practice, she worked as a medical writer, strengthening her expertise in scientific communication and precision drafting.
